How can I measure babies' feet?
The best method for how to measure babies' feet is to take a measuring tape and hold it against the sole of your baby's barefoot from the feel. Read our helpful guide on how to measure feet at home here.
What age do babies need their first shoes?
There's no set age for when you need babies' first shoes, but we recommend around 6-13 months when your little one starts to crawl. Between 8-18 months your baby should generally be walking and needing their first shoes, however, every child is different, and their progress doesn't always follow the same trajectory.
What type of shoes should babies wear?
La Coqueta has a variety of different baby shoe types, ranging from soft leather soles for babies that aren't ready to walk, to pre-walker styles with comfy rubber soles for little ones that are learning to find their feet. The key is to find comfortable shoes that aren't restricting, specially designed by Celia and the team in La Coqueta's latest baby shoe collection.
Can babies walk in Pram Shoes?
Pram shoes are not suitable for walking, as they have a super soft Nappa leather sole which has no support. They are best suited for babies between the ages of 3M-18M who are sitting upright or crawling, but not walking just yet.
What shoes are best for learning to walk?
La Coqueta’s Mini Mary Janes and Nappa T-Bars are the best fit for little ones learning to walk, available in sizes that will fit toddlers aged 18M-3Y. Our pre-walker shoes have adjustable buckles and a lightly padded footbed with a rubber sole for extra comfort, and pair perfectly with our stretch cotton socks and tights.
What are baby shoes made from?
La Coqueta’s baby shoes are crafted from supple Nappa leather, either rendered from calf or goat skin that is buttery soft to the touch and available in a range of dreamy seasonal shades.
